Bidwell's Blog

To all you football fans, read this...

"well im sorry all you "dawg" fans 1. cant spell dogs and 2. dont understand that YOUR player was the one who was being unsportsmanlike first. then he was again on field when he was mouthing off what im guessing where cuss words directed to LO team. so yes if i was the couch of LO i would have yelled at the little disgrace that calls him self a football player. that is no way to act. so if as you say LO's couch yelled at him... HE DESERVED IT. learn to get your dang players under control. in my opinion they shouldve just kicked the kid out right there and went on... but no he stayed in and went back on to the field to mouth more.... lol just lol"

Someone tried to post that response on this blog earlier this afternoon.  I wish this was the only post like this I've seen recently.

Now, with all due respect to everyone who reads and posts on this blog...read the next couple of sentences very slowly and very carefully.

This forum is here for you to talk about high school football.  Feel free to talk about your team.  Feel free to talk about other teams.  That's where the line needs to be drawn.

In the last week, things on here have completely disintegrated.  We've had one school's fanbase accusing another school of not teaching english to their students.  We've had the word "classless" thrown around every five minutes.  We've had a high school kid called a "disgrace."  I have had enough.

Every post on here goes through me.  Barring any profanity, I've pretty much let every post go through...until the last four or five days.  I've had to delete numerous posts a day because people on here have started losing their minds.  Please stop it.

This is your final warning.  Any more crass and rude comments, and especially personal attacks on others...whether they are other posters or the student-athletes we are here talking about...your posts will be deleted forever and we won't let you back in to this "community."

It's time to remember the "Golden Rule"...and use it.

Very well said.

It's hard to defend your team when students (and PLAYERS) are here trash talking, using bad grammar, and generally giving everyone a bad impression of us.

Hopefully these young men and women will learn that trash talk does nothing. Period.

On a side note, I'll be glad to sit in the stands of Memorial Stadium this week - after a stretch of so many away games, I think our boys will be happy to play at home again.

Thanks again for posting this, Bidwell.

I agree with GC fan.  This is a teen sport and that should be remembered.  It is supposed to be fun for the players as well as the fans.  What would some of the players think if they were to read what some people have posted on this blog.  Everyone needs to be positive.  Support your team, but do it with positive comments and a little respect for the other people who might read it.

Kids will be Kids, but hopefully they will mature and learn lessons from sports as well as life, on the field it is easy to get carried away and loose focus on "doing the right thing"  hopefully these kids can keep it together and bring pride to Fulton as players and young adults. They are about to begin a historic journey in the playoffs, good luck guys and glad to get you back home.
