Cindy...I'm a Lone Oak fan right along with you. But I assure you the top 2 teams ahead of us are deserving of those spots. I'm not saying we can't beat them, but they are without a doubt the top 2. If we play our A-game, there's no doubt in my mind that Lone Oak can give them all they want and then some. Should be a fun ride in the playoffs! And the sportswriters across the Commonwealth vote in this poll.

Stop drinking the purple kool-aid.

They are ranked where they should be. If Lone Oak played the schedule they played, they wouldn't be undefeated.

It still cracks me up that we flat-out embarass a not-so-good Calloway team and still can't crack the top 10!! Granted, Calloway really isn't that good, but still, it was a blowout after Calloway made an attempt to make it a game!!! Where's the love?

Stop dreaming. Fulton City travled up to Lone Oak to play a 4A school. We did get beat. Ya think. However if Lone Oak played all 4A schools they would not be looking at the same record they have now. Wait until someone stops the passing because lord knows they don't have a running game. They did not even run the ball against Fulton City until 4:00 minuets left in the Fourth Qt. Give me a break!!
GO BULLDOGS!!!

GC Fan:  Graves pulls away from flat Calloway team in 4th quarter for solid win.  Lakers are a good team, but it was simply Graves' night last Friday.  They were ready and Calloway wasn't.  Doesn't mean Lakers aren't a good team or they would not have put 27 up against you guys.  Otherwise how would they have beaten Mayfield 40-7?  You remember Mayfield don't you - the same team that shut down Graves 17-0?  For the record, no love shown for you when you gotta ask for it and run down another team in the process.  For the record, Calloway will get back on track vs. Hopkins Central Friday night.

GC Fan,

You just make yourself look dumber and dumber. You did not embarass the Lakers. And yes they are a good team. You're the ones who choked against 2 teams you should've beat.

And if I was to go along with your theory that you BLEW OUT a NOT-SO-GOOD team, 2 classes smaller than you, then your arguement makes you look even more dumb. Why would that grant you being in the Top 10?

Calloway played bad that night. If the two teams played again, it might turn out differently.

GC, you were shut out 17-0 to Mayfield, which is laughable at this point, you being a 6A school and them being 1A.

Stop the smack, it makes your county look dumb.

Not many Graves fans even post on here and I hate it when the one that does makes all of us sound like idiots. Yes, Graves had a big win against Calloway, but by no means did Calloway just give it to us or did we embarass them. They do have a good team. The thing that gets me is how everyone brings up old wins and losses like "Well Mayfield shut you out and we beat Mayfield." and the" well, we are a 4A school and you are a 6A."  There are still only 11 players on that field and even though GC has a bigger student body, the football numbers are probably not much bigger than alot of the smaller schools and the talent doesn't really run all that deep. That's why we have some kids dressed out every game that never or rarely get in a game and many that have to play both offense and defense. This group of Eagle seniors are a great bunch of kids and this is the year Coach Rogers has been waiting for. We've had some bad luck with injuries in the middle of the season and lost some of our momentum, but hopefully we are back on track. If they play with the same desire I saw last Friday night, they will be hard to stop! Good luck Eagles!

hey eagle fan 2, there's always a few bad / bruised apples in every bushel - try to have more faith in your fellow men - most of 'us' don't judge the whole bushel by only a few not so prime pieces of fruit...

how-ever 'we' don't mind @ all being just a tad picky & sticky with 'our' blogging efforts & attempts...

with that in mind, please understand the importance of a team's seasonal wins & losses - while the classifications of schools and district play may not be a perfect system, it is vital in order to keep things sort of on an even keel so-to-speak for all...

sure your point of only eleven on the field of play @ a time per team regardless of their classification is correct, the factor of school size for such warranted classification is based on the number of total enrollment per individual school in which to say like draft those 'chosen' eleven and the remaining squad members respectively...

granted some very entertaining games are played each year with mixing the classes due to fulfilling schedules along with good old rivalry match-ups - for example say like mayfield always a 1 or 2a taking on paducah tilghman normally a 3 or 4a school, but their playing each other carries a very competitive history going way back - also know a school may play 'up' in state classification if chosen, but not down - see lone oak chose to do just that this current year and for for good reason...

but it would be very close to impossible for a 1a school to head to state and knock off a 6 or 7a for an over-all championship - these classed teams really really play a 'different' game of football - the percentage of such happening would be muck like disproving dna evidence..

a bit different but same in comparison, another example would be like say murray state winning a national championship defeating fl, ohio st, lsu, s cal, or penn st (for bidwell) - just can't & doesn't happen - much the same holds true for basketball also with only ( 5 ) on the floor per team - but man can those ( 5 ) vary pending which field they are grown in...

in closing i'll just point out as the old saying holds true most of the time, 'picking on one your own size' definitely makes a difference normally - sorry for 'your' loss last night - saw that coming i did but hey, not a bad season all in all -  takes hard work & much effort to produce good fruit and with-out doubt graves co.'s bushel this year had more red shiny apples than the bruised / bad ones...
