It sounds so much better than "Uninspired Friday", doesn't it?
Even with the bad weather today, we've still got a bunch of good high school basketball games to bring you tonight. Marshall County and Paducah Tilghman will play their rubber match tonight at Tilghman. It will be interesting to see how well Tilghman plays tonight against a good team after a couple of sub-par performances.
Ballard Memorial's run at the girls "All A" Classic is over after they fell to a really good Cumberland County team today 53-37. I'm really interested to see what kind of run the Lady Bombers can make in the 1st region tournament this year. With no seniors, it could be argued they are a year away. If the region draw plays out in their favor, they are certainly good enough to be playing for a berth in the Sweet 16.
Speaking of the Sweet 16, the KHSAA released the draws for the boys and girls state tournaments today. The girls' draw can be found here. The boys' draw is here.
The general consensus from the Racer Nation seems to be general apathy toward last night's overtime loss at Austin Peay. I'm kind of getting the sense Murray fans are thinking "no big deal...we'll get them next time in the OVC tournament." There certainly is no need to jump off the bridge after a loss where you played on the road without your starting point guard. Murray is going to be fine...and according to the voice of the Racers Neal Bradley, he thinks they've got the goods to get back to the NCAA tournament. You can listen to my talk with him from last night after the game on our podcast here.
In case Racer fans need a little pick-me-up today, my YouTube clip of the day should help. Fast-forward past the normal nonsense from Bob Knight to the 2:43 mark. There is some late-game action from Murray's NCAA win over NC State back in 1988. Enjoy.
Super Bowl prediction? Take the Patriots in a blowout...38-14. Just don't blame me if you lose your shirt with any ill-fated wagers.
Have a great weekend.
As always, the floor is yours.
