A very active start to our year of weather has many people saying enough is enough. After all of the heavy rain, dry weather has really been helping areas begin to dry out. So, the big question is: Are we finally turning the corner to a calmer weather pattern? The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) has released the temperature and rainfall outlooks for the month of April.
Rainfall

The rainfall outlook doesn't really offer a lot of direction, one way or the other. The CPC has placed our region in the "Equal Chances" category. Basically, this means our chances of having above average rainfall or below average is about the same. Typically, April is a fairly wet month for us with an average rainfall of 4.95".
Temperatures

The temperature outlook suggests April to be a bit warmer than average. In addition, well above average temperatures are forecast across the Bootheel and NW Tennessee. An average high for April 1st is 64, while the average high on the 30th warms all the way to 73.
While these outlooks give us an idea of what to expect, they are simply a forecast or "guideline". We can still have wetter/drier & colder/warmer periods.
