How Much Rain This Time?
As if we really needed it, more rain is on the way. This is a storm system that is very similar to the event in early March that dumped 10+ inches over parts of our region, however, it looks like rainfall totals won't be quite as high this go around. With the ground nearly saturated, there is nowhere for the water to go, but to run-off into low areas. The bottom line...it won't take much rain to aggravate flooding problems. This time, it looks like heavy rain and storms will drop widespread amounts of 2-4 inches of rain Thursday through Friday. The National Weather Service Rainfall Forecast is posted below.

Staying Safe During Floods
Before flooding begins, make sure you have your evacuation plan and survival kit ready. It's important to know which roads flood first, and alternate roads you can take to safety. When flooding begins, it's important to stay out of the flood water. Never drive through water covering the roadway. It only takes a few inches of rain to sweep away your car. Also, do not let kids play in flood water. You never know what chemicals or other dangerous objects could be in the water.
