WKMS Hosts a Valentine’s Weekend Cruise on Kentucky Lake
Murray, KY. It's your last chance for a cold weather cruise on the CQ Princess, warm and snug in its nicely appointed, heated, no-smoking dining room and lounging areas. Murray State's public radio service is partnering with the Louisville-based yacht to offer a warm outing to warm hearts for Valentine's week with a two-hour luncheon cruise on Saturday, February 16th. It's a fundraiser for the station as well as a day that promises a surprise or two.
Tickets are $55 per person for the cruise including a hot buffet lunch featuring a choice of herb roasted chicken breast or roast pork loin prepared by the chef at Kenlake Lodge and soft music provided by guitarist Brent Webster of Murray State University.
Reservations are due by Monday, February 11, as space is limited. There are a number of ways to make reservations with WKMS. Call toll-free at 800-599-4737 and speak with either Kathy Thweatt or Stephanie Nutter-Osborne. Stop by the WKMS office, 8th Floor Price Doyle Fine Arts Building. Download a reservation form at www.wkms.org and either mail it (WKMS, 2018 University Station, Murray, KY, 42071) or fax it (270-809-4667) to the station.
The CQ Princess from Louisville is a heated 96-foot yacht. Boarding begins at 11:30 a.m. at Kenlake Marina, with the cruise beginning at noon and returning to Kenlake at 2 p.m. It's a relaxed afternoon, so dress casually. WKMS on-air hosts and staff will be there as well. You can see photos of the CQ Princess and view the entire cruise menu as well as the WKMS program schedule at wkms.org.
WKMS is a listener supported public radio service at 91.3 FM. The station also airs on 92.1 FM, Paducah; 99.5 FM, Paris, Tennessee; and 105.1 FM, Madisonville, WKMS HD-1, WKMS HD-2 with Classical 24, and online at www.wkms.org. For further information call 800-599-4737.
