BACKGROUND: The Delta Regional Authority (www.dra.gov) is a federal-state partnership serving 240 counties and parishes in parts of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.
The Charleston health screening is one in a series of free Hometown Health Fairs taking place in eight states across the Delta region over the next several months. The free health screenings are part of the DRA’s Healthy Delta initiative, which promotes diabetes awareness and prevention across the Delta region.
