Calendar: Community Calendar Southern Illinois Irish Fest Dates April 24 General Information Categories No Categories Description / Comments "The Southern Illinois Irish Festival comes to Carbondale April 24-27 with nightly concerts at Mugsy's Entertainment Center and Celtic Fair activities at Turley Park.  The "Kilt Rock" band Mother Grove opens the festival Thursday night. Friday's concert features traditional songs & tunes from Cork to Chicago, with Irish singers Jimmy Crowley and Máirtín de Cógáin, and Chicago accordion and fiddle masters Jimmy Keane and Sean Cleland.  The Saturday evening concert features Irish-American singer Cathie Ryan and her band.  The Celtic Fair Saturday and Sunday includes two stages of music and dance, Highland games, children's activities, and much more.  Details at www.silirishfest.org."
