This is the first time I've done this before, so please bare with me. Right now, I'm sitting at my computer, looking out of my window at the terrible traffic, listening to the noisy construction going on next to my apartment, and wondering when it will all end. I would love for it to all be over so I can sit in the quiet not looking at the cars backed up all the way down the hill. No, I'm not talking about I24 or the Parkway or even 45. I'm looking out of my 26th floor window at the H2 traffic in Pearl City, HI. Up until 2003, the worst traffic I had ever experienced was 45 at General Tire, when there was still shift change. I thought that was rough! Now, every time I come home, I just smile at the "traffic." Right about now, I'd give almost anything for a traffic snag due to the occasional piece of farm equipment! Instead, I have to settle for a fifteen minute drive that takes at least an hour. Who ever started the rumor that no one in Hawaii is in any hurry and that everything just goes with the flow over here? It's not all that terrible, but it just makes me miss home even more.
